Social Responsibility
Movies don´t change the world. But they can change the mind of people, who then can make a difference in real life. So movies are one of the most powerful tools to promote valuable ideas like human rights, respect for our environment and freedom in every aspect.
This is why the ABL Group and Film House support two very valuable organizations both linked to the impact of movies and film people in society.
amfAR

Founded in 1985, amfAR (The American Foundation for AIDS Research) is dedicated to ending the global AIDS epidemic through innovative research. Research projects financed by amfAR have helped increase our understanding of the HIV virus and delivered significant progress in the treatment of HIV/AIDS.
Since 1985, amfAR has invested nearly USD 275 million and has awarded grants to more than 2,000 research teams worldwide. amFar has strong ties to the entertainment industry, linking most of their fundraising events to annual events like Cannes Film Festival. Annual highlight is “Cinema Against AIDS” in Cannes.
As a member of the Benefit Committee, Christian Angermayer is involved in numerous events organised by amfAR
Cinema for Peace

The Cinema for Peace Foundation (CFPF) was initiated in 2008 by Jaka Bizilj to further develop the goals and activities of the established Cinema for Peace Initiative throughout the entire year, expanding the role of Cinema for Peace in raising public awareness of social inequality and injustice in the world through the medium of film. Christian Angermayer has been one of the four founding donors.
Per its charter, the Cinema for Peace Foundation endeavors to further peace and understanding worldwide through the support of cinematographic works. CFPF's main purpose is the involvement in the production and dissemination of films about the prevention of disease (e.g. AIDS), violence, ecocide, war, poverty and violation of human rights. In order to do so, such films are supported and made accessible through the foundation as widely as possible in an effort to raise awareness about these issues worldwide, both in the first world countries as well as in the afflicted countries. The foundation pursues this goal directly, or by supporting third parties in doing so.
Outstanding alternative film projects are premiered at the annual CINEMA FOR PEACE Gala in Berlin. Sir Bob Geldof has termed Cinema for Peace as "Oscars with Brains". Internationally renowned stars such as Leonardo DiCaprio, George Clooney, Sean Penn, Sharon Stone, Richard Gere, Nicole Kidman and many others use the media spotlight to present and drive forward their charity projects in a network of film, media, politics and business.Christian Angermayer represents all ABL partners and Film House as Co-Chair of Cinema for Peace and Vice Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Cinema for Peace Foundation.
